Can I Pack and Send Liquids Through a Courier Service?

If you plan to ship liquids to another city, state, or even country, there are a few things you need to be aware of.

First, not all courier services allow customers to ship liquids. Second, the courier companies that allow the shipment of liquids have rules and regulations governing which liquids may or may not be shipped. Third, when shipping liquids internationally, some countries may have their own rules and regulations regarding the shipment of liquids within their borders.

It is best advised to familiarize yourself with the courier company’s rules, regulations, and requirements before sending liquids through their service.

In addition, you may want to learn about which states and countries have their own set of rules and regulations regarding the shipment of liquids into their borders and how to properly package the liquids before sending them.

You should always speak to the courier company directly before you plan to ship your item, as some courier companies do not ship flammable liquids, perfumes, alcohol, or nail polish.

Which liquids can not be shipped

Certain courier companies may ship non-hazardous liquids. The condition is that the liquids must be in a sealed container and must contain a label that clearly indicates the contents of the container. Containers must seal properly and must be waterproof.

Some companies may ship alcohol and will thus have their own requirements for the shipment of alcohol. These companies stipulate that liquids over 4 ounces in weight must be shipped in insulating material and/or shipping bottles that seal properly.

In addition, you may ship perishable items, provided that these items reach their destination before they spoil.

Can I ship hazardous liquids?

It is possible to ship some hazardous items such as hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. However, the list of items included under this label is limited, requires special packaging, and needs to follow a very specific set of rules.

How do you deliver liquids?

Keep in mind that each shipping company has its own requirements, but you should be able to ship liquids using the following supplies:

  • Bubble wrap
  • Labels that can be used to identify the contents of the package
  • Tape
  • Packing peanuts
  • Insulated containers for perishable items
  • Waterproof container
  • Stickers that indicate fragile products

Tips for packaging and shipping liquids

When shipping liquids, you want to make sure that you are following the guidelines of the courier. Here are five tips for packing and shipping liquids:

  1. Ensure that the container the liquid is stored in has a double seal.
  2. The bottle or container holding the liquid should be placed inside a waterproof bag. Make sure that the waterproof bag seals properly as well.
  3. Take a cardboard box and place two layers of packing peanuts at the bottom of the box, then place the waterproof bag containing the liquid in the cardboard box before filling it to the top with more packing peanuts.
  4. Use tape to seal the box tightly.
  5. Label the box properly.
